Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse Leader to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in providing leadership and guidance to our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive work environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting evidence-based practice and excellence in patient care.
  • Develop and implement nursing strategies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Trust standards.
  • Lead and manage nursing teams, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure staff development and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless care pathways and effective communication.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (valid with NMC)
  • Completed national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
  • Evidence of academic achievement or working towards Degree level of study
  • Evidence of postgraduate study relevant to role or willingness to work towards
  • Relevant post-registration experience, including management experience and evidence of personal and professional development
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead teams effectively
  • Understanding of patient flow in a busy acute area
