Job Title: Senior Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Nurse to join our team at the Clinical Immunology Allergy Unit in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, leading and managing a team of nurses, and contributing to the development of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing and promoting high-quality patient care, ensuring individual patient needs are assessed, care planned, implemented, and evaluated regularly.
  2. Maintaining contemporaneous, timely, and accurate records and reporting patient progress to medical staff and the multi-disciplinary team.
  3. Assisting medical staff with observations, treatment, and procedures as appropriate, and participating in research programs in accordance with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
  4. Demonstrating leadership skills, management, and supervision of the nursing team, providing an environment where staff feel valued.
  5. Acting as a role model and teacher, providing mentorship and support, and demonstrating exemplary practice to all members of the nursing team.

The Clinical Immunology Allergy Unit is part of the Specialised Medicine and Rehabilitation Care group in the Directorate of Clinical Infection, Immunology, and Dermatology.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • RGN Level one
  • NMC registered
  • Completed the national PEAP program for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
  • First degree or evidence of working towards one (demonstrating graduate attributes)
  • Completion of short courses in HR functions, i.e., recruitment, selection, appraisal
