Job Title: Financial Business Partner

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a highly skilled Financial Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting our on-site operations and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide financial expertise and guidance to site management, developing a commercial partnering relationship while providing key metrics and analysis.
  2. Support the financial control environment at our Redcar site, ensuring that financial performance is delivered while providing valuable insight to aid in decision making.
  3. Own the month-end process, performing detailed variance analysis and providing detailed insights to all key stakeholders.
  4. Present monthly results to senior personnel, including Operational teams, to enable understanding of profitability.
  5. Prepare the full year budget, quarterly reforecasts, and 5-year plan for the business unit, with accompanying KPIs and presenting this to senior stakeholders.
  6. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring controls are in place and being adhered to.
  7. Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies in the day-to-day role.
  8. Provide end-of-year audit support, giving full and adequate explanations to auditors where requested.
  9. Manage a Financial Analyst.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA).
  2. Experience supporting and influencing operational colleagues.
  3. Strong system skills, including advanced Excel and some Power BI.
  4. Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  5. Management Accounts experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
