Job Title: Vehicle & Mobile Plant Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Fitter/Mechanic to join our team at Biffa Waste Services Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining both mobile and static plant to ensure utmost reliability and safety while reducing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical support to all operations
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks around the ELWA sites
  • Repairing mobile plant around the ELWA sites
  • Anticipating mobile plant failures and making changes or recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and minimize downtime
  • Developing and implementing a programme of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimize downtime, provide records of recurrent faulting, and engineered solutions to these issues
  • Using hand tools, welding equipment, powered hand tools, and cutting equipment
  • Ensuring H&S standards are maintained, and all related documentation is completed
  • Liaising with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance work
  • Undertaking any other reasonable tasks as required
  • Travelling and working between ELWA Sites as and when required
Requirements:
  • Able to diagnose faults, repair, and maintain machinery, and have a good understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Previous experience working with heavy machinery or in a mechanical/Auto electrical role can be beneficial
  • Able to work under pressure and work well with others
  • Candidate will be a team player and work under own initiative, with the ability to plan its own workload
  • Clean driver's license a requirement for the position
