Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and trailers, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards.
- Diagnose and rectify complex faults, using technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently.
- Respond to disabled vehicles at the roadside or customer premises, providing timely and effective assistance.
- Handle vehicles with care, ensuring all precautions are taken to prevent damage or injury.
- Liaise closely with the parts department to ensure efficient ordering and delivery of replacement parts.
- Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Complete job cards and service sheets accurately and on time, providing detailed records of work carried out.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the workshop, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work within guidelines and to strict deadlines, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Capacity to work under pressure, remaining calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Able to actively seek solutions to problems, using initiative and creativity to resolve issues.
- Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Good verbal communication skills, able to effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent customer care skills, providing a high level of service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing and maintaining vehicles.
- ADR certification.
- Current driving license.
- LGV/HGV license.
