Wood PLC is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team on an innovative Energy Security/Alternative Energy project.
We are a market-leader for engineering design and project delivery of energy transition infrastructure. Our extensive expertise across the carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and renewable power sectors is coupled with our knowledge of the latest technologies and sustainable design solutions. We work closely with our clients, and the wider supply chain, to ensure that we reduce the carbon footprint across the value chain and deliver digital solutions suitable for the lifecycle of the asset.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling of discipline activities and deliverables, including man-hour estimating when required. They will also manage discipline work to the required schedule and man-hour allocation, including requesting personnel as identified by the plan and day to day supervision of Mechanical discipline personnel on the project.
The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering Degree (Chartered Engineer preferred) and experience as Lead Mechanical Engineer on onshore and offshore projects. They will also have experience in working with Mechanical equipment on onshore and offshore projects, and must have the right to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule discipline activities and deliverables, including man-hour estimating when required.
- Manage discipline work to the required schedule and man-hour allocation, including requesting personnel as identified by the plan and day to day supervision of Mechanical discipline personnel on the project.
- Provide advice on the selection of Mechanical equipment.
- Specify Mechanical equipment, by preparing Technical Specifications and Mechanical Data Sheets.
- Engage with, and evaluate specialist equipment suppliers, including preparation of requisitions and technical evaluation reports.
- Manage the integration of mechanical equipment into overall facility design by liaising between equipment suppliers and other Wood specialist engineers.
- Provide specialist input to design reviews, risk assessments and constructability reviews.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree (Chartered Engineer preferred).
- Experience as Lead Mechanical Engineer on onshore and offshore projects.
- Experience in working with Mechanical equipment on onshore and offshore projects.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
