At Jackson Hogg Ltd, we are pleased to be partnering with a highly regarded independent school in West Sussex to recruit for a senior school bursar. This is a rare opportunity to join the senior management team and contribute to the school's continued success.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headmaster to prepare the school's business plans, present to the governors, and implement approved plans. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all budgeting and financial management, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting of financial performance.
- Advising the governors on general financial policy.
- Leading and supporting the operations team in day-to-day operations, providing support as needed.
- Ensuring the safety and security of the school's assets, in accordance with governor and charity commissioner requirements.
- Formulating and implementing policy on employment legislation for teaching and non-teaching staff, in consultation with the Headmaster.
Requirements include:
- Previous experience in a school business manager role or similar position.
- Proven track record of managing budgets of several million pounds.
- Knowledge of the education sector and understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities.
- Experience of managing multiple teams across different departments.
