About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychotherapist/Applied Psychologist to join our team at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality therapeutic services to adults with complex emotional difficulties and trauma histories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-deliver therapeutic groups with MDT colleagues within the day programme, including small psychotherapy groups, community meetings, large groups, art therapy, drama therapy, and social therapy.
  • Engage with TC members in unstructured time, such as lunch breaks, to promote a safe and containing therapeutic environment.
  • Manage a small caseload and conduct initial assessments for suitability for the programme.
  • Collaborate with the MDT to deliver the intensive day TC therapy programme, which is MBT informed.
  • Contribute to an evolving formulation, MDT review, and care planning for each TC member.
  • Co-facilitate the weekly Leavers Group.
  • Provide clinical care management and maintain good quality, contemporaneous clinical records.

Person Specification
  • Specialist postgraduate training to Masters level or equivalent in Psychotherapeutic modality leading to accreditation/registration with HCPC/UKCP.
  • Professional background in a mental health discipline to at least first-degree level.
  • Relevant specialist training in the skills required for the specialty area.
  • Experience of providing teaching and training to staff.
  • Good experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity.
  • Specialist experience of psychological approaches to helping people with severe and enduring mental health problems.
