Job Title: Distribution Operations Director

A leading national drinks wholesaler, supplying drink products, hospitality and marketing support to over 16,000 on-trade premises in the UK.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Organising staffing levels to meet business requirements.
  • Organising agency support as necessary.
  • Completing processing of orders, production of pick lists and dispatch notes and loading sheets in accordance with depot procedures.
  • Minimising delivery costs.
  • Ensuring all warehouse staff are fully inducted into their roles and that training sessions are fully supported.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for all warehouse operatives and ensuring a speedy response and resolution to any issues, referring to the operations Manager where appropriate.
  • Monitoring and taking appropriate action with regard to absence management.
  • Acting as a role model to the Depot by supporting the Distribution manager in other tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • You will come from a warehouse distribution background, ideally with load planning experience.
  • You will be comfortable with numerical data and be able to efficiently gather and analyse transport information.
  • You will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work alongside the transport crew and act as the first point of contact to resolve issues.
  • As a skilled problem solver, you will always be thinking ahead, looking for improvements.
  • You will have a proactive & positive approach and step up to support at management level as required.
