Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service team in Lambeth.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide leadership and day-to-day coordination of our community occupational therapy service, working with a multi-disciplinary team to implement person-centred rehabilitation in the community.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To perform highly specialised and advanced assessments and treatments as part of the Community Rehab and Falls Service, providing home-based, outpatient and intermediate ward-based therapy to adults living in Southwark and Lambeth.
  • To act as team leader, manage designated staff performance and be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of the Occupational Therapy service as part of the Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service.
  • To work autonomously, frequently as a lone practitioner and at times in conjunction with team colleagues, across a variety of locations within the community including client's homes and residential care settings to meet the individual needs of the multi-cultural population in an inner-city area.
  • To work across borough boundaries, accessing and recording information, communicating with patients and colleagues, attending meetings or training using mobile devices, and coming into offices when required.
Requirements:
  • Health and Care Professions Council registration as an OT.
  • Significant rehabilitation experience at specialist level across relevant clinical areas, e.g. elderly care, intermediate care, dementia, orthopaedics, falls.
  • Experience of managing less senior staff and students including providing supervision and appraisal.
  • Experience working in falls prevention and management.
