This role is pivotal, providing essential support in delivering precise analysis, forecasts, and reports to senior management and the broader organization. Key Responsibilities

As a Strategic Financial Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering accurate and insightful data, commentary, and analysis for internal reports and KPIs directed at the management team and Board.
  • Overseeing the daily management of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic processes, including the upkeep of financial planning models and conducting initial reviews of outputs to identify unexpected variances.
  • Preparing year-end and half-year reports along with performance analysis for both internal and external reporting, supporting the external audit process.
  • Leading the development and promoting the use of automated reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) tools across the finance team and the organization.
  • Managing the development, report writing, and master data updates for the group forecasting system, Anaplan, which includes training finance team members and integrating with other functional users.
  • Addressing ad-hoc requests from the business and finance teams, ensuring a clear understanding of requirements and providing relevant data and reports to meet stakeholder needs.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, you should be a driven individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, possesses a proactive mindset, and pays meticulous attention to detail. You will have excellent communication skills, enabling you to foster relationships and manage stakeholders effectively at all levels. You should be comfortable challenging existing processes and proposing innovative solutions to complex issues.

A passion for data is essential, along with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Proven experience and a desire to enhance your skills in Business Intelligence tools (preferably report writing), financial forecasting software, and managing large datasets are crucial. Familiarity with ERP systems is also beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial statements and data, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. You should be capable of translating complex financial information into clear messages for the management team.

A recognized accounting qualification or being at finalist level (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is required.
