Job Overview

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Principal EMC Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on EMC design considerations and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage EMC requirements and acceptance criteria for systems, platforms, and programmes
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure EMC compliance and provide guidance on design considerations
  • Work with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards
  • Design and implement system mitigation to meet EMC standards
  • Mentor and coach Engineers within the team

Requirements

  • BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent qualification
  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this
  • Experience of design for EMC compliance
  • Knowledge of EMC Defence Standards would be an advantage
  • Proven experience and ability to coach others in a team
