Job Title: Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Electrical Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing support to the Engineering Manager and external specialists in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub-systems, and components to achieve contractual compliance for EMC design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify and manage requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platform, or programme.
  • Advise design teams on EMC requirements and design considerations.
  • Liaise with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards.
  • Design and implement system mitigation to meet EMC standards.
  • Mentor and coach Engineers within the team.

Requirements:

  • BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this.
  • Experience of design for EMC compliance.
  • Knowledge of EMC Defence Standards would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience and ability to coach others in a team.
