About the Role

Achieving for Children is a leading provider of community and special school nursing services, committed to delivering high-quality care to children and young people with complex health needs.

This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team, providing holistic family-centered care to children and young people with SEND in Dysart and Bedelsford special schools, at home, and within community services.

As a specialist children's nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating clinical nursing care, including administration of medication, suctioning, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy management, and enteral feeding, seizure management, and more.

You will also provide health advice for education, health, and care plans, attend multi-professional meetings, including child protection case conferences, and participate in mentoring, supporting, and supervising junior staff and student nurses.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in nursing, with experience working with children and young people with disabilities or complex health needs. They will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

The salary for this position is approximately £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, and includes benefits such as 29 days annual leave, local government pension scheme, flexible working options, and access to a comprehensive employee assistance program.
