About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Primary Care Sheffield. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide phlebotomy services, including blood sampling and processing
  • Conduct health checks, including blood pressure, weight, and height measurements
  • Assist with basic wound care, including dressing and removal of sutures/clips
  • Perform ear irrigation and pre-diabetic checks, including foot checks
  • Process and manage laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
  • Administer B12 injections and flu vaccinations
  • Assist with chaperoning duties and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Contribute to the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being

Requirements

  • NVQ III or equivalent training and experience in a healthcare support role
  • Phlebotomy training and experience
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative
  • Competent in administration tasks and able to maintain accurate records
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
