Premises Maintenance and Cleaning Officer

Dumfries and Galloway Council are seeking an experienced and reliable Premises Maintenance and Cleaning Officer to join our team at Langholm School.

The ideal candidate will have a background in cleaning and maintenance and be able to take responsibility for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the school premises. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently as part of a team.

We are committed to providing our staff with full training to enable them to perform their duties to a high standard. Our comprehensive training program includes everything from basic cleaning procedures to advanced techniques such as floor care and window cleaning.

Job Description:

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the school premises
  • Performing tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and polishing furniture and fixtures
  • Ensuring that all areas of the school are clean and tidy
  • Reporting any maintenance or repair issues to the facilities team

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in cleaning and maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team
  • High level of attention to detail

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £24,177 per annum, which is negotiable based on experience. Other benefits include membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, school holidays, career progression opportunities, personal training plans, and a uniform provided.
