About the Role

PSR Solutions is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team as a Commercial Lead on a live project. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for managing aspects of the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation and Planning: Conduct comprehensive cost estimation and prepare accurate cost plans to ensure the project's financial success.
  • Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and agreement of terms to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Cost Control and Risk Management: Monitor project costs and variations, providing proactive cost advice and control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Commercial Collaboration: Collaborate with the project team to address commercial issues and find cost-effective solutions.
  • Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare and submit monthly reports on project financial performance and conduct cost and value reconciliations.
  • Team Support and Development: Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team to ensure their growth and development.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, or vast experience as a Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
  • Background: Strong background in working on large-scale projects with a minimum value of 10 million.
  • Education: Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Professional Membership: Chartered membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Thorough understanding of various forms of construction contracts, excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
