About the Role

Catch22 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Justice team as a Finance, Benefit, and Debt Advisor. In this exciting opportunity, you will work with adult males ex-offenders who have experienced the Criminal Justice System and are currently on probation.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking structured assessments to understand the specific finance, benefit, and debt needs of our service users. You will then construct tailored action plans to aid their rehabilitation, based on information provided by their probation officer.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting service users to claim the correct benefits and manage under/overpayments
  • Helping service users to access banking and financial services
  • Sign-posting service users to relevant agencies/organisations that will support them with their FBD needs

About You

We are looking for an exceptional individual who is well organised, process driven, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling narratives and present engagingly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good basic education, including Maths and English GCSE, or equivalent
  • Skills and experience working with Microsoft Office suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Evidence of continual professional development

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience of working within the Criminal Justice System, offenders and/or disadvantaged people
  • Knowledge of how financial issues can impact on re-offending
  • Confidence to incorporate wellbeing strategies within the role, to promote emotional resilience and healthy coping mechanisms
