We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Civil Engineering Project Director to join our team in Cumbria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and motivating project teams, ensuring clear communication, coordination, and collaboration among team members. They will also establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring project deliverables align with expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring clear communication, coordination, and collaboration among team members.
  • Client Engagement: Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring project deliverables align with expectations.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and implement cost-saving strategies when necessary.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize potential issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project activities meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Reporting: Provide regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the civil engineering sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • A commitment to safety and quality.
  • PMP or other relevant certifications a plus.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.
