**Job Title:** Museum Sculpture Conservator

**About the Role:

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Museum Sculpture Conservator to join our team at Nationalmuseums. The successful candidate will be responsible for conserving and preserving our diverse sculpture collection, which includes classical marble busts and contemporary installations.
  • The role will involve collaborating with other teams, such as Collections Care and Visitor Services, to ensure the highest standards of collections care and contributing to major cross-organisational projects.

**Responsibilities:

  • Delivering sculpture conservation projects, including interventive conservation treatments and managing larger conservation projects.
  • Leading the programme of ongoing maintenance of the outdoor sculpture and implementing preventive measures to safeguard the collection during transit.
  • Developing appropriate methodologies for documenting sculpture conservation work and completing documentation, including entering information into the collections management database.

**Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level with a recognised post-graduate conservation qualification or equivalent training/experience.
  • Extensive work experience in the museums sector (post-education/training).
  • Strong network of professional contacts both in the UK and internationally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Salary:** £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
