About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Goudhurst Inn, a boutique hotel and restaurant located in the heart of the Weald of Kent. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of chefs to deliver exceptional food quality and service
  • Develop and implement menus that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and safety
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to achieve financial targets and drive business growth
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of chefs

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a senior chef in a premium pub or restaurant
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A passion for using fresh and seasonal produce
  • Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and Food Safety
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience at management level in a premium hospitality business
  • Excellent food and drink knowledge
  • Good understanding of financial targets and how to achieve them
  • Own transport is essential
