We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Specialist to join our team at National Nuclear Laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment where you will be responsible for providing expert risk management guidance and support to our project teams.

As a Senior Risk Management Specialist, you will be expected to have a deep understanding of risk management principles and practices, as well as experience in developing and implementing effective risk management strategies. You will work closely with our project managers and other stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with our projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a flexible approach to working hours.

This role offers a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including annual leave, pension scheme, and access to training and development opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement effective risk management strategies across our projects.
  • To provide expert risk management guidance and support to our project teams.
  • To work closely with our project managers and other stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with our projects.
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date risk registers and to ensure that all risk-related information is properly recorded and communicated.
  • To contribute to the development of our risk management policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline such as risk management, business administration, or engineering.
  • Proven experience in risk management, preferably in a nuclear industry setting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
