Postdoctoral Research Scientist Position in Data Science and Neurodegenerative Diseases
4 weeks ago
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our team at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford. The successful candidate will be part of a cutting-edge program of research working with large complex datasets at the interface of data science, genetics, epidemiology, and fluid biomarkers.
The primary focus of the position will be on integrated analysis of complex datasets, including wearables, clinical, and fluid biomarker data, to identify factors predictive of neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). This research aims to identify factors that could be used for long-term monitoring and prediction of symptom onset.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field and be planning an academic career in data science, medical statistics, or epidemiology. The post holder will provide guidance to junior members of the research group and contribute to other projects within the Oxford MND Centre.
The post is full-time, although part-time at a minimum of 0.8 FTE may be considered, for a fixed term. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the development of innovative research projects.
We are looking for a proactive and ambitious individual who is passionate about data science and its applications in neurodegenerative diseases. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please submit your application.
