About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and innovative English Teacher to play a vital role in shaping the next generation of confident communicators and engaged readers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a stimulating and challenging English curriculum across Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11).

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Delivery:
    • Develop and deliver engaging and stimulating English lessons that promote a love of literature, language, and effective communication.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential.
    • Foster critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation skills through the exploration of a wide range of texts.
    • Develop students' written and oral communication skills, preparing them for success in examinations and beyond.
    • Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (if applicable).
  • Assessment and Feedback:
    • Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to monitor student progress and inform teaching and learning.
    • Provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback to help students improve their skills and understanding.
  • Professional Development:
    • Continuously develop your own professional knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with current trends and developments in English education.
    • Contribute to the wider department by sharing best practices and collaborating with colleagues.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A qualified English Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
  • A demonstrable passion for English Language and Literature, with a strong commitment to raising student achievement.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to engage students with a wide range of texts and genres.
  • Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver creative and interactive lessons.
  • A commitment to high standards and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
