Key Responsibilities- Patient Care and Support
- Provide empathetic and personalized care to patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed throughout the mammogram process.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Mammogram Procedures and Equipment Maintenance
- Perform mammogram procedures with precision and accuracy, ensuring optimal imaging of breast tissue.
- Monitor and maintain specialist X-ray equipment, ensuring it is used safely and within established parameters.
- Record Keeping and Team Collaboration
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including procedure details and notable observations.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and determine the best course of action for patients.
- Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance
- Participate in audit processes to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of quality assurance protocols.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of radiographic services.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Radiographer with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working as a Mammographer, with a strong understanding of breast health and imaging procedures.
- Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Education and Certifications
- Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography, or equivalent qualification.
- Additional Requirements
- A full driving license and access to a car for mobile work, if required.
