Job Description

**About the Role**

A leading engineering company, Automation Experts Ltd, is seeking an experienced Lead Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering automation projects across various industries, including Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, and Food and Beverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of complex automation projects, either independently or leading a team of 3-5 engineers.
  • Involved in all stages of the project, from creating design documentation to developing automation software, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Manage the workload and progress of team members, working closely with the Project Manager to meet contractual project milestones.
  • Review design documents and test the software developed by team members.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Good organisational and communication skills at all levels.
  • A positive, approachable, willing, and helpful attitude.
  • Good team player.
  • PLC and HMI software development experience using at least two manufacturers' devices from Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Schneider.
  • Experience with multiple communication protocols and working with SCADA systems and VSDs.
  • Knowledge and experience in virtual machines (VMWare).
  • Excellent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
  • A full UK driving licence.
