About the Role:
As a Control Systems Automation Specialist, you will serve as the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all automation technologies within the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in collaborating with maintenance and facilities teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability of automation systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in hands-on monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of automation systems to ensure high equipment availability for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and regular inspections on automation systems, robotics, and control panels.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment, providing support to junior technicians and escalating issues to management or vendors as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and relevant ticketing systems.
- Provide mentorship to maintenance staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge in automation and control systems.
- Lead investigations into major downtime incidents to identify root causes.
- Act as a technical resource for network-wide issues and facilitate root cause analysis across the organization.
- Enhance the technical knowledge of maintenance personnel in advanced automation and control technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during the commissioning of new control systems.
- Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to management regarding quality and service level agreements.
- Develop and standardize preventive maintenance procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering.
- Relevant degree or qualifications in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Background in manufacturing or production environments, particularly in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
- Proficient in PLC-controlled automation and automated processes.
- Extensive experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, including programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Familiarity with material handling systems and capacity monitoring.
