About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and guidance to our clients, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, and contributing to the development of our financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and motivate a small accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial projects.
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies, working closely with senior management and budget holders to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including management accounts, budget setting, cash flow modelling, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting routines, including transactional finance duties such as purchase ledger, sales ledger, income processing, VAT, gift aid, and payroll/pension processes.
  • Support the preparation of the organisation's accounts for audit, and contribute to the development of process and system improvements.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar position, ideally with a qualification in accounting (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA) or qualified by experience.
  • Strong IT skills, with proven experience of developing processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to partner with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with commercial awareness and a strong understanding of charity law and accounting rules.
