We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Equine Yard Technician to join our team at Hartpury University and Hartpury College. As a key member of our Equine Department, you will play a vital role in providing an exceptional experience for students, commercial users, and ensuring the highest standards of horse welfare.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Equine Department in the day-to-day running of the Equine Unit, assisting with the supervision of students and overseeing practical tasks.
- Supervise student liveries and contribute to the smooth operation of the Equine Unit.
- Assist with the hosting and running of International Equine Events and commercial bookings throughout the year.
- Reside in shared accommodation, comprising a single occupancy double bedroom within a shared recently refurbished farmhouse on-site, with access to communal facilities and a pre-paid meal card for use at food outlets around the campus.
- You will be a team player with high standards of horse care and the enthusiasm and drive to motivate students and maintain our professional standards.
- You will be provided with the opportunity to work towards improving and developing your riding ability within two staff development lessons per week.
- Ideal candidates will hold a BHS Stage 3 or equivalent qualification and have experience in a large equine yard setting.
- Hybrid working arrangements with a blended approach of office and home working.
- 25 days annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days with length of service.
