Site Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join our team in Chelmsford, working on residential projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting out for Groundworks, including roads, drainage, and landscaping. Proficiency in AutoCAD and robotic equipment is required, along with a valid CSCS card and car driving license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience working for a reputable Groundworks contractor.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Setting out all works and anticipating workforce requirements.
  • Obtaining drawings and notifying any changes.
  • Requesting RFIs and maintaining a tracking system for responses and closeouts.
  • Ensuring all temporary works designs are in place.
  • Ensuring all work is undertaken according to current drawings and specifications.
  • Conducting setting out in accordance with the method statement and risk assessment.
  • Assisting with quality assurance (QA) checks, reports, and files.
  • Coordinating engineering resources to gather as-built information.
  • Timely closure of defects.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD; Asta programming and N4ce Ground modelling are optional.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand the Health and Safety policy and procedures, carrying out work in accordance with its requirements.
  • Work in accordance with Quality and Environmental procedures and ensure relevant forms are completed.
  • Liaise with the site manager to report any health and safety non-compliance.
  • Attend prescribed health and safety training programmes.
  • Promote safe systems of work.
  • Set a personal example by wearing appropriate PPE.

Applicants must live in Essex or surrounding areas to minimize travel. We require two current references to be validated as part of the application process. Only candidates currently legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
