About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Theatre Practitioner to join our team at CHEC, a leading provider of community-based ophthalmology services.

As an experienced Theatre Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced theatre environment. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless delivery of ophthalmic care.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Undertaking preoperative assessments and diagnostics testing under AfPP good practice guidance
  • Participating in theatre scrub duties
  • Providing support to patients, friends, and families in a compassionate and empathetic manner
  • Assisting surgeons in the delivery of ophthalmic care
  • Contributing to departmental audits and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Previous ophthalmic theatre experience is essential
  • Evidence of relevant professional development, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration / ODP with valid HCPC Registration
  • Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including software and systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prioritization of first-rate patient safety and care
