About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Assistant to join our team in Redbridge. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs in a vibrant and inclusive primary school.

You will work closely with the Special Needs Co-ordinator and other staff members to provide tailored support to pupils, ensuring they have access to mainstream class teaching. Your expertise and experience will enable you to make a significant impact on the lives of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs in mainstream classes
  • Work collaboratively with the Special Needs Co-ordinator and other staff members to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, promoting their emotional wellbeing and resilience
  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategies to support pupils' mental health and wellbeing
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • High level of emotional intelligence and empathy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
