We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a PhD researcher in oncology at the University of Cambridge. This exciting opportunity involves working on a fully-funded PhD studentship that focuses on understanding and combating cancer.

About the Project

The project aims to model progression risks in Barrett's oesophagus, a type of cancer that affects the esophagus. You will work closely with Profs Rebecca Fitzgerald and Nora Pashayan to develop novel risk prediction tools using big data and AI.

Responsibilities
  • You will conduct original research, analyzing large datasets to identify patterns and trends.
  • You will collaborate with experts in genetic epidemiology and genomics to develop and validate your research findings.
Requirements
  • You must have a strong academic background and meet the PhD entrance requirements for the University of Cambridge.
  • You should have a passion for cancer research and a desire to contribute to the development of new treatments.
Benefits

The funding for this studentship covers students with UK Home tuition fee status only. The estimated salary is £15,609 per annum (2024-25 rate). In addition to your salary, you will receive comprehensive training and support, including access to a wide range of lectures and training courses, as well as membership of the University's Postgraduate School of Life Sciences.
