Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Protec Fire Detection PLC. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and costing new installations, preparing and submitting quotations, and assisting with technical bid writing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and cost new installations, ensuring compliance with British Standards and client requirements.
  • Prepare and submit quotations, including technical submission documents and system schematic wiring details.
  • Assist with technical bid writing, including methodologies and sequencing.
  • Liaise with the Sales Manager and Project Teams to prepare and submit quotations to prospective clients.
  • Process client sales orders and liaise with project engineers to ensure customer/job files are prepared.
  • Undertake any administration and phone duties as required.
Person Specification

Candidates should possess a full Electrical based qualification, such as City & Guilds or ONC, and have experience within a similar role. They should also have working knowledge of current British Standards and experience of installing life safety and associated systems.

Requirements
  • Able to produce and read technical drawings and specifications.
  • An excellent eye for detail and ability to consistently produce accurate costs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft computer packages, including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Working to deadlines and enthusiastic about learning.
