Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our highway maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of our projects, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for highway maintenance projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget.
  • Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including reviewing and approving invoices.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors.
  • Provide financial advice and support to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the highways or civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Full UK driving license.
