Job Overview

This is a challenging opportunity to contribute to the development of an established Elderly Care department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. As a Senior Clinical Fellow, you will be part of a dynamic team working closely with emergency colleagues in ED and the community.

The post offers a unique chance to work in a 7-day service that provides close support to patients returning to their normal place of residency at the earliest opportunity.

Your key responsibilities will include sharing in duties to support elderly patients attending RLI by rotating within Care of the Elderly wards, orthogeriatric pathways, and Frailty SDEC services as well as supporting the Reg on call rota.

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work under the guidance of a consultant physician geriatrician and collaborate with ACPs, resident doctors, and experienced ward nursing teams to provide high-quality care.

You will conduct medical assessments, triage medical admissions, manage ongoing patient cases, and organize investigations and treatment planning for complex rehabilitation needs.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, providing seamless interactions with GPs, multidisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders.
