Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Holden Jones. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the submission of monthly Management Accounts for 4 business units to group head office.
- Control and manage month-end journal posting, including WIP, prepayments, and accruals.
- Ensure accurate Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Produce monthly analysis reports to support business decision-making.
- Manage intercompany balance reconciliation and repayment.
- Submit VAT returns in a timely manner.
- Control the submission of month-end statutory accounts onto consolidation software.
- Lead the half-year review and year-end statutory audits.
- Develop and manage annual budgets with input from Business Unit Directors.
- Supervise, manage, and mentor the finance team.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar role, overseeing the finance function on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will have an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), solid IT skills, experience with Sage, and advanced user skills in Microsoft Excel. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with a high attention to detail, are essential personal competencies for this role.
