About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ranger to join our team at Orford Ness. As a Ranger, you will be responsible for delivering a program of practical work and visitor management, surveying and monitoring of species, and working alongside the LBBG Community Engagement Ranger and a team of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver an effective engagement campaign to support the work of increasing the breeding population of gulls on Orford Ness
* Day-to-day practical and technical management of a countryside property, including equipment maintenance, habitat management, ecological monitoring, visitor experience, and site presentation
* Build and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, volunteers, contractors, and partners
* Assist with excellent communication of our conservation work to a wide range of audiences, both new and existing, through events, guided walks, and engagement with local communities
Requirements:
* Practically experienced in conservation work, to protect and improve habitats and landscapes
* Happy to talk to all kinds of people about the work you're doing, and why it matters
* Hard-working and willing to learn
* Able to work safely, using risk assessments and following guidelines
* Experienced in managing land, access, and conservation, and working outdoors
* Able to use machinery and equipment, with relevant certificates
* A driver with a full UK driving licence
