Job Overview

The Transformation Unit seeks a Clinical Lead Educator to coordinate postgraduate professional development initiatives within the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex Primary Care Department.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for education and a commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of the primary care educator workforce.

The successful candidate will lead the development of postgraduate professional development initiatives, design and implement the Educator Pathway professional programme, and provide support and guidance to KSS primary care staff.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement postgraduate professional development initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of primary care educators.
  2. Design and manage the Educator Pathway professional programme in partnership with the Heads of GP School and Head of Primary Care School.
  3. Provide support and guidance to KSS primary care staff, including GP Clinical and Educational Supervisors, GP tutors, training programme directors, and other educational network members.
Requirements
  • Registered Medical Practitioner with a current licence to practise.
  • Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty or professional association.
  • Higher educational qualification such as a postgraduate certificate, diploma or Master's in education.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Clear understanding and evidence of involvement in delivery and management of healthcare education and training.
  • Knowledge of the NHS, its structures and processes, including an understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters.
  • Previous or current appointment as a leader in healthcare education.
  • Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context.
