Marine Biology Lecturer

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic academic to join our team as a Marine Biology Lecturer at the University of Plymouth.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, permanent position, working 37 hours a week. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available (agreed informally within the department).
Key Responsibilities- Deliver dynamic, research-informed teaching and be driven to achieve excellence in your field of study.
- Contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the Marine Biology Subject Group, with a focus on the BSc Marine Biology and Oceanography degree programme.
- Design, deliver, and assess teaching activities such as lectures, tutorials, statistics workshops, laboratory sessions, taxonomy and fieldwork, including UK-based non-residential field courses.
- The ability to contribute to residential overseas field courses is highly desirable.
Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, with postdoctoral (or equivalent) experience and a promising research track record linking oceanography and marine biology. Prior teaching experience, suited to a Lecturer (Grade 7) position, is preferred.
