Maxillofacial Prosthetist

We are seeking an experienced Maxillofacial Prosthetist / Reconstructive Healthcare Specialist to provide support and cover for our Maxillofacial Prosthetist in H&N Oncology and Trauma support, Orthognathic surgery planning using the SAM system and 3D virtual planning, and facial prosthetic patients.

1. To take an active role in service and patient pathway relating to Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Maxillofacial surgery and 3D virtual surgical planning, Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry, liaising with other healthcare professionals.
2. To communicate effectively, liaising and advising consultants and other healthcare professionals with regards to patients care plan, anatomical anomalies and technical requirements whilst providing a complex range of clinical Maxillofacial prosthetic rehabilitation interventions.
3. To provide training, guidance and advice to other laboratory staff, Clinicians, other healthcare professionals, Students and Work Experience Placements and quality control of their work.
4. To provide highly complex and specialised 3D Head and Neck Oncology, Orthognathic and Trauma surgical virtual planning service with a high degree of individual responsibility including innovative development work, design and manufacture of patient specific implants and cutting guides for complex facial reconstructions.
5. At least 5 years post advanced qualification experience in an active Maxillofacial unit.
6. A wide range of practical experience covering all aspects of Dental Technology in a hospital environment.
