We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Management Specialist to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Main Responsibilities- Support the Deputy and Divisional Head of Finance in providing a comprehensive finance business partnering role to the directorates within the division.
- Develop and implement financial plans and forecasts to support the division's strategic objectives.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to non-finance managers on budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Work closely with the Deputy and Head of Divisional Finance and fellow Finance Business Partners within the Divisional finance team to ensure that the finance function makes an influential contribution to the Division's managerial and business objectives.
- Develop close and collaborative working relationships with key leads within their directorate and fellow finance colleagues in corporate finance to ensure the directorate finance team's operations are consistent with the Trust's financial framework.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country, with an annual turnover in excess of £1.4bn. We provide a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and are a base for medical education, training, and research.
Person Specification- Able to communicate technical data in a clear and concise manner, using a variety of media.
- Ability to present analysis and interpretation of financial and non-financial information in an NHS acute provider context.
- Experience of working in a financial management position, ideally within the NHS.
- Knowledge of NHS financial management procedures and processes, ideally in an NHS acute provider organisation.
- Experience of setting income & expenditure budgets and of financial forecasting.
- Experience of carrying out in-depth analyses of variances, reporting on these and setting out options for corrective action.
- Experience of advising finance & non-finance managers on financial & budgetary matters.
- Knowledge of NHS financial information systems.
- Able to design spreadsheets & databases for analysing and presenting information.
- Knowledge of NHS Commissioning arrangements, in particular as they relate to complex acute providers.
- Experience of providing financial advice and guidance for business cases.
