About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering within the Department of Engineering Science. As a key member of our professional services team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial administration, financial analysis, and financial reporting services to support the growth and development of our biomedical engineering research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver efficient and effective financial administration services, including financial planning, analysis, and budgetary control.
  • Develop and implement robust financial procedures to ensure compliance with the University's Financial Regulations and policies.
  • Provide financial reporting and forecasting services to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with the IBME Director and Administrator to provide institute-level financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Research Administration and HR teams to provide accurate budgets and forecasts of research activity and overhead recovery.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial operations and management. You should have a degree-level education or equivalent experience, with evidence of strong intellectual, numerical, and analytical skills. A full or part CCAB accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA or CIMA) is essential, as is the ability to produce clear and concise financial reports. Proven experience of financial operations and financial management in a complex and challenging environment is also essential.
