About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatrician to join our team as a Community Paediatric Consultant. As a key member of our Children and Young People's Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist community paediatric care to children and young people with complex needs, including those with neurodisability, autism, and other special educational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each child and family.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to monitor progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Provide education and training to other healthcare professionals, including junior doctors and nurses, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
Requirements
  • Full valid registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health (or equivalent) or Diploma in Child Health.
  • Ability to work at Consultant level in Community Child Health.
  • Proven experience in clinical audit and quality improvement.
  • Level 2 Child Protection Training.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and providing clinical supervision to junior staff.
Desirable
  • CCT or equivalent in subspeciality of Community Child Health.
  • Previous participation in a management role.
  • Evidence of completion of full audit cycle and implementation of changes to practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on a leadership role and provide clinical supervision to junior staff.
