Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle office on a hybrid basis. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements
  • Liaise with Senior Engineers and Engineering Technicians regarding design and drawing
  • Work with Electrical Associates on survey, design, specification, and contract administration process
  • Carry out detailed Electrical Building Services Design Engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects
  • Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages
  • Attend design team meetings and inspect and report on electrical building services systems
  • Utilize Building Services software for calculations
  • Produce marked up drawings for CAD and direct CAD design drawings for issue
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards relating to Electrical services

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for Incorporated Engineer aligned to IET or CIBSE requirements
  • Ability to design principle electrical systems from concept to detailed design
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical distribution, internal and external lighting, small power and fixed power, power supplies, fire alarm and detection, and ICT structured cabling
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
