About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Downstream Strategist to join our team at MatchaTalent. As a key member of our Fuels Strategy & Capital Planning Department, you will play a crucial role in developing the strategy of our Fuels Business Unit (BU), managing capital, identifying portfolio synergies and optimization opportunities, and conducting financial management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Downstream strategy and scenario planning, providing independent research on a wide range of topics that explore long-term scenarios impacting the BU's competitive advantage.
- Prepare research, special studies, and market analysis as required for the Downstream Strategy Council and other Corporate and Downstream Committees, feeding into the development of scenarios.
- Collaborate with a group of strategists responsible for articulating the overall Fuels BU strategy and the formulation of outlook scenarios.
- Collaborate with a group of strategists and planners responsible for the development of the Fuels BU long-term strategic plans, including capital/resource allocation plans.
- Build strong relationships with think tanks and industry experts to stay updated on key developments in the Downstream business globally, as well as other arenas impacting our company's Downstream competitive performance.
- Independently initiate research on wide-ranging topics that explore long-term scenarios potentially impacting our company's competitive advantage in the Downstream business.
Requirements
- Willingness to relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management, or a closely related specialty. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Have 15 years of experience in a combination of refining, chemicals, trading, and retail marketing business, with at least 5 years in strategy formulation, scenario planning, and/or strategic planning.
