Respite Care Manager Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Respite Care Manager to lead and develop our respite care program, ensuring that children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive high-quality care, support, and enriching activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the respite care program, ensuring safe, compliant, and enriching experiences for children and young people with SEND.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing both safeguarding and administrative staff.
  • Develop and implement a Strategic Development Plan for Respite Care, including budget management and staff performance.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of activities that promote equality and meet regulatory standards.
  • Manage staff recruitment, training, and performance to maintain high standards of care and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted registration and other relevant regulations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with families, schools, and external agencies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 in Health + Social/Childcare or similar.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, particularly in a care or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license, as this role will require travel to multiple sites.
