Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Control and Instrumentation team at BAE Systems. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex integrated process control systems, providing specialist advice, and producing evidence to support legislative, safety, and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake functional design of complex integrated process control systems, providing specialist advice and producing evidence to support legislative, safety, and technical requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external customers as part of the technical team.
- Articulate and present technical arguments clearly, logically, and simply.
- Execute, evaluate, deliver, and manage complex engineering and/or cross-functional tasks or programmes of work, recognizing stakeholder and customer requirements.
- Lead and develop a small team of Control and Instrumentation engineers.
- Identify and implement opportunities for personal/team development to ensure the professional capability of the business and individual is maintained and improved.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
- Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle phases and technical specialities.
- Significant experience producing and communicating design documentation and artefacts relating to Control Systems.
- Experience developing solutions to meet complex technical requirements in a highly regulated industry/environment.
- Obtained or capable of obtaining relevant Professional Registration (CEng).
