Payroll Officer

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Oxford. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of payroll operations and excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a payroll of 230 staff on a monthly basis, alongside 2 other payrolls for casual workers and external workers.
  • Collaborate closely with the accountant, Financial Controller, and HR Team to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, with flexibility to accommodate the ideal candidate's needs.
  • Utilise IT systems to accurately process payroll, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in payroll operations, with a strong understanding of payroll systems and processes.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • IT proficiency, with experience in using payroll software and systems.
  • Accuracy and numeracy, with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy and demanding environment.
  • 36.5 hours per week, with 30 days' holiday per annum.
