About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at Transformation Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to lead our Rheumatology and Chronic Pain service and provide specialist occupational therapy input to children and young people.

This role involves providing expert level knowledge and experience in relevant specialised areas, including specialist rheumatological assessment and intervention approaches, and specialist chronic pain assessment and intervention approaches.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people, including those with complex disabilities and upper limb needs. They will also have experience of managing and developing operational policies, and demonstrating clinical leadership skills and excellent team building skills.

This is a key leadership role within our team, and the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and supporting the Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the service. They will also contribute to service development alongside their colleagues in the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy input to children and young people with rheumatology and chronic pain conditions.
  • Lead the Rheumatology and Chronic Pain service and provide clinical leadership to the team.
  • Supervise and support the Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the service.
  • Contribute to service development alongside colleagues in the multidisciplinary team.
  • Manage and develop operational policies.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapy Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working with children and young people, including those with complex disabilities and upper limb needs.
  • Experience of specialist rheumatological assessment and intervention approaches, and specialist chronic pain assessment and intervention approaches.
  • Experience of managing and developing operational policies.
  • Clinical leadership skills and excellent team building skills.
